SUNSET STATION PHASE 2 SITE DEVELOPMENT REACHES AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE!
Site development on Sunset Station Phase 2 has been going well, and the contractor reports that more than 50% of the backfill of the site has been completed! This is an important milestone in meeting the goal for the site being complete by 1Q 2027. As part of the site development process, the backfill is certified by a third-party vendor to verify the material was placed in accordance with all approved requirements and specifications
As part of the commitment to repurpose the demolished buildings, the primary backfill material being used is made of recycled concrete that comes from the office building. The contractor uses a specialized piece of equipment to recycle the concrete on-site, which ensures that we use as much recycled material on the site as possible. The remainder of the materials are removed by truck via the southeast entrance to Sunset Hills Road.
Noise has increased on site recently as the contractor works to complete demolition of the remaining reinforced structural elements of the garage.This work is taking place along the eastern portion of the site and is expected
to be complete in the next two weeks.
